MERC Gaming Group has a set of rules under which we operate.
The basic idea of our group is to have fun, avoid being jerks to one another, and be active in the MercGG community.
Members must be 18+ and make use of TeamSpeak. Members under 18 may be admitted at the discretion of leadership if they are a good fit for the community.
We hold our members to be individually responsible for their actions. Disregarding the rules and unfriendliness to the community may result in dismissal from MercGG.
1. People from all backgrounds are welcome. Discrimination or hostility towards someone on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or nationality is unacceptable here, as is any other hateful speech or behavior.
2. Teamspeak 3(TS) is a required installation for all MercGG members. We ask that you use it often, especially during major events, Ops nights, and regularly run MercGG groups. It is expected that you be able to hear your teammates.
3. Be respectful and mature to your fellow MercGG members. Extend this attitude to all other players in any game we play, especially our friends and allies (e.g. The Terran Alliance (TTA)). If you are unable to resolve personal disagreements please find a leader/officer on TS, or private message us on the forums.
4. Be aware of your posts in other forums/reddit - while your words are your own, they may reflect on the MercGG community. In general, we ask that you consider this when you are posting under the MercGG tag. For games where we have a significant presence (e.g. Planetside 2) we may require certain topic threads in public forums be handled by officers only.
5. Broadcasting and recording is allowed with a number of subrules:
(i) We ask that when you record or broadcast on TS that you set your server group to [Recording] so other members can see they are being recorded.
(ii) Please inform people in channel when you begin capture. If you are recording, please do not join the private rooms without first confirming that everyone in the channel is OK with being recorded.
(iii) If you are playing in PvP with other MercGG members, please put a minimum of 5+ minute delay to try to reduce stream sniping. This is especially important for open world PvP games (e.g. Planetside 2)
(iv) As per rules 3 & 4, consider that you are broadcasting under the MercGG tag and that your actions reflect on all of us.
(v) In time, there will be some MercGG media assets posted here for your twitch / youtube channels. In the meantime, if you wish to use any of the currently active designs, PM Lepalose
Make sure to review any other rules specific to the game you play!
